    Squash Glasses

Protective squash glasses are now compulsory for juniors competing in tournaments in England. There is a very good reason for this - when eye injuries happen in squash, and they happen more often than you might think, they are usually serious and often result in impaired sight or blindness in one eye. It is also worth noting that the idea that the better you get, the less likely you are to suffer an eye injury is a fallacy. In fact, the better squash players get, the more time they spend on the T where there is more chance of catching a hard cross court directly in the eye. Just in case you're not convinced, the impact force of a squash ball, due to its weight, is roughly equivalent to that of a .22 bullet. Squash is not an especially dangerous sport, but protective glasses are definitely recommended.
